Topic: insights from tired kate
so, i was informed by mike that i needed to update my blog. and though he is not the boss of me, he is occassionally right about stuff, thus i update.

let's see. school has started and my classes are going to be really challenging but really interesting, which is a good combination i think. i may also have finally figured out a dissertation topic (yes, thanks mike for your help). i talked to my supervisor in sociology about my initial thoughts and he thought this could be something really big. so i'm antzy to talk to him more about it and hammer out a basic proposal.

the two jobs are keeping my busy and i think stuff in my personal life and school life is making me a big stress wad sometimes. it will all get figured out. i haven't really set my routine up yet for the fall so once i get that going i'm sure i'll be less of a psychopath. or at least back to my usual level.

i went with mike last weekend to albuquerque for his big move and sort of helped with unpacking and hanging art and that sort of stuff. it was a great weekend, even if it was sad when i had to leave on monday. abq is absolutely beautiful! it was not easy to come back to 'scenic' college station where we're awe-inspired by the size of someone's monster truck, rather than by a view of mountains and awesome sunsets and gorgeous weather. mike has a good thing going out there and i already have plans to go visit again. if you go visit him, make him take you to tucanos. its a great restaurant. all you can eat meat treats.

for this weekend i'm going to be a nerd tonight and do some reading for class and do laundry and stuff. tomorrow is aggie football action and hanging out with friends.
